Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome (continued)

Remember that Mr. Mann has diarrhea, a symptom found in one-third
to one-half of patients with Z-E syndrome. Some patients also
have steatorrhea (abnormally increased fat excretion -- due to
maldigestion -- in the stool).
Diarrhea and steatorrhea reflect maldigestion and malabsorption
of nutrients caused by hyperacidity.
What mechanisms could result in maldigestion and malabsorption in these patients?
